Power Electronics And Switched-Mode Power Supply
A switched-mode power supply (also switching-mode power supply, SMPS, or simply switcher) is an electronic power supply unit (PSU) that incorporates a switching regulator in order to provide the required output voltage. This course covers the theory, operation, maintenance and testing of power electronics and switched-mode power supply.
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:
•Explain the basic operation of power electronics and switched-mode power supply.
•Maintenance power electronics devices and switched-mode power supply.
•Terminology of switched-mode power supply
•Classification switched-mode power supply
•SMPS and linear power supply comparison
•Theory of operation
•Application of power electronics in electrical machine
•Power electronic devices
•Power electronic applications
•Types of SMPS
•Efficiency & EMI
